In June 2017, Orcades Marine Asia was engaged by Aquatera to provide an on-site safety officer for a hydrography survey carried out by Bintang Subsea. Orcades Marine Asia was on site for 3 days of the bathymetry and transect survey, and the work was carried out successfully and safely without any incident. Careful considerations were in place for the Muslim crews as the work was carried out during the Ramadan period.
It was a pleasure working with the Bintang Subsea crew, who showed great professionalism. The remote and challenging tidal environment required the team to adapt swiftly in order to complete the work successfully on time. This survey would allow the developers to assess the potential for tidal energy development in the future.
