Energy Recovery Study for LNG Plant in Singapore

In 2020, Orcades Marine Asia partnered with OceanPixel to carry out a feasibility study on energy recovery from effluent flows in the plant. Despite the challenging COVID-19 restrictions, the necessary surveys and field measurements were carried out, and the study completed successfully. Special considerations were also taken for the equipment and methodology adopted, in order to meet the various ATEX Zone safety requirements.

The work allowed Orcades Marine to determine the water flow speed in an effluent canal, estimate the potential energy available for recovery and the reduction of carbon footprint for various operation conditions. This project shows that all businesses have the potential to play a part in the fight against climate change, and Orcades Marine was pleased to have the opportunity to contribute to it.
